I began collecting sea glass while vacationing with my family. The beach in my husbands home town in Newfoundland and Labrador was a great place to beachcomb. Each trip became a sea glass gathering expedition.
I began to read about the origins of the glass, and search for other unique items that would wash up on the beaches.
Eventually my husband told me I had to ‘do‘ something with all this glass that I had brought home to Alberta.
So the challenge began and I have been painting, making jewellery, and taking photographs with this glass ever since.
Over the years, I have attended craft sales and farmers markets, and showcased my art to many different customers. I have even sold pieces to residents of NL that enjoyed seeing something from ‘home’.
